Silkscreen T-Shirt Workshops

Swag arrives in a box. This one they make.

Your team decides what one mark says about them, burns it into a screen, and pulls their own shirt on a real press. Single colour, ink under the fingernails, and something they'll actually wear on a Saturday.

10โ€“40 people ยท Half or full day ยท We bring the whole studio ยท From R617 a head

Six colleagues seen from behind in an office, pointing at the single-colour GitHub emblem and Platform Crew ZA lettering they screen-printed on the backs of their own shirts

Nobody wears the shirt they were given

You know the box. Fifty branded tees in the storeroom, four sizes wrong, logo blown up to 300mm because someone said "make it bigger." Two get worn to gym. The rest become pyjamas. That's not a print problem โ€” it's a brief problem.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ They pull it themselves

One squeegee stroke. That's the whole trick. The moment you lift the screen and see your own print come up clean is the reason this works โ€” and it's why the shirt survives the cupboard cull.

๐ŸŽฏ One colour forces the call

You can't hide behind a gradient. Single-colour print means the team has to agree on one mark, one line, one idea. That argument is the workshop.

๐Ÿง  We're not a print shop

A print shop takes your file and runs it. We run the session that decides what the file should be โ€” the same reduction work we do on brand sprints, just with a deadline you can smell.

For heads of engineering, product & culture

The design session is the workshop

Printing takes an afternoon and anyone can be taught it. The hard part โ€” and the part worth paying a design consultancy for โ€” is deciding what deserves to go on the shirt in the first place.

A shirt is the smallest possible brand brief

One colour. 280 ร— 230mm. No room for a tagline, a mission statement and four sub-brands. Your team has to cut until one idea is left standing, and everyone can see immediately whether it's true or not โ€” because they have to wear it.

We've run that reduction exercise on brands with real money riding on it. Same method, lower stakes, much better afternoon.

Dev teams take to this one

Something about a physical build step, a repeatable process and a visible pass/fail. Engineering and platform teams consistently pick the sharpest marks โ€” the language they actually ship in, the tool they argue about, or the joke that's been in the standup for eight months.

How a full day runs

  • Cut it down. What is this team actually known for? We collect it, then kill everything that isn't one idea.
  • Draw it. We work it up live โ€” vintage tech label, single mark, wordmark, whatever fits. You approve it in the room.
  • Burn the screen. Film positive, emulsion, exposure, washout. Twenty minutes and slightly magic.
  • Print. Two stations, everyone pulls their own. Second one always comes out better.
  • Cure and wear. Heat-set on site. Shirts leave with the people, files leave with you.

You get the artwork, not just the shirt

Every design is delivered as production-ready vector files with the screen specs, so you can reorder from any printer in the country without coming back to us. We'd rather you did.

The screen itself is yours too. It's good for a few hundred pulls โ€” new starters, the next offsite, the client who asks where the shirt came from.

What we bring, what we need

01

We bring

Press, screens, emulsion, film, inks, squeegees, heat gun, drop sheets, shirts in every size from XS to 4XL, and enough spares that nobody has to feel bad about a misprint.

02

You need

Two trestle tables, a plug point, and somewhere shirts can lie flat for ten minutes. A boardroom works. A canteen works better. No fire, no fumes, no drama.

03

Or come to us

We run it out of the Centurion studio if your office can't take it โ€” same day, same price, minus the travel line on the quote.

Straight answers

Can we use our actual logo?

Yes, and it's the most common request. We'll adapt it to a single-colour screen version that holds up at print size โ€” most corporate logos need it, and you keep that version.

Does it survive the wash?

Heat-cured plastisol, washed inside out, cold. It'll outlast the shirt. Water-based ink on request if you'd prefer a softer hand.

What if someone ruins theirs?

They won't, but we carry spares regardless. Nobody goes home with a bad one.

Can people bring their own garment?

Yes โ€” a jacket, a tote, a hoodie from home. Cotton or cotton-rich only, and at their own risk. Most people print the tee and then print the tote as well.

What can we legally put on it?

Your own marks, obviously. Open-source project logos โ€” Python, Git, GitHub, Docker โ€” are fair game under their community trademark guidelines and print beautifully in one colour. Licensed characters and film logos we'll talk you out of; it's your brand on the shirt.

Let's get ink on your team.

Tell us your team size and a date โ€” we'll come back with a design direction and a quote within 48 hours.
